What is Photovoltaic glass?

Photovoltaic glass is a type of glass that can generate electricity by laminating solar cells and utilizing solar radiation
 

  • Production process:
    Photovoltaic glass is a special type of glass that utilizes solar power generation by laminating two highly transparent glass sheets into a solar cell thin film panel (indium tin oxide ITO, chromium telluride thin film, etc.) with relevant current extraction devices. This design reduces outward reflection and increases internal reflection, effectively absorbing solar energy. It ensures the maximum transmittance of solar energy and improves power generation efficiency.

 

  • Category:
    Photovoltaic glass can be divided into two categories: crystalline silicon photovoltaic glass and thin-film photovoltaic glass. Among them, crystalline silicon is commonly used in curtain walls, which is further divided into monocrystalline silicon and polycrystalline silicon.

 

  • Features:
    It has the advantages of beauty, controllable light transmission, energy-saving power generation, and does not require fuel, does not produce exhaust gas, has no waste heat, no waste residue, and no noise pollution. It has a response wavelength of 320-1000nm to the solar spectrum and a light transmittance of over 91%. Has high reflectivity for 1200nm infrared radiation.
