Application:

  • 1. Used as refractory material, Aluminum oxide has the characteristics of high melting point, high hardness, and good chemical stability, making it an excellent high-temperature refractory material. The application of alumina in refractory materials occupies an important position.
For example, in the field of steel metallurgy, refractory bricks made from alumina can be used for high-temperature equipment such as furnaces, converters, hot air stoves, and electric furnaces.
In the field of glass and ceramic materials, Aluminum oxide can be used to produce high-temperature refractory materials such as refractory glass and ceramics.

  • 2. Used as an abrasive, due to its high hardness and uniform particle size distribution, alumina can be used as an abrasive. Abrasives made of alumina can be used for grinding, polishing, and polishing surfaces of materials such as metal, wood, rubber, and plastic.

  • 3. Used as a chemical catalyst, Aluminum oxide can also be used as a chemical catalyst. In the fields of petrochemicals, fertilizers, synthetic ammonia, etc., alumina is commonly used as a carrier for catalysts, with advantages such as selectivity and high catalytic efficiency.

  •  4. Used for producing electronic ceramics, Aluminum oxide, as an insulator, can also be one of the main components of electronic ceramics. Ceramic materials made of alumina have good mechanical properties, insulation properties, and high temperature stability, making them suitable for producing high-end electronic and electrical components such as capacitors, zirconia piezoelectric ceramics, and thermistors.

  •  5. Used as a filler for polymer materials, Aluminum oxide has a large surface area, so it can be used as a filler for polymer materials. Adding alumina nano powder to polymer materials can improve the wear resistance, tensile strength, heat resistance, etc. Therefore, the application of alumina in fields such as rubber and plastics is becoming increasingly widespread.
